As prescribed at Clause 1 Article 99 of the Construction Law stipulated as follows:

Renewal of construction permit

1. Before the construction permit expires, if the project has not yet begun, the investor must request an extension of the construction permit. Each construction permit can only be renewed a maximum of 02 times. Each extension period is 12 months. When the construction permit extension period expires without starting construction, the investor must submit an application for a new construction permit.

Thus, the construction permit can be renewed up to 2 times, each extension period is up to 12 months. When the construction extension period expires, the investor must submit an application for a new construction permit.

However, for works and individual houses that have been granted a construction permit with a term that has expired as stated in the permit, but the planning has not been implemented, the owner of the work or the person assigned to use the The project owner requests the construction licensing agency to consider extending the existence period until the planning is implemented.

The duration of the project's existence is immediately recorded in the issued construction permit (Clause 3 Article 99 of the Construction Law).
