NN1 visa is specified in Article 8 Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam 2014 amended by point d, clause 3, Article 1 Law on entry, exit, transit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam amended in 2019, As follows:

8. DN1 - Issued to foreigners working with businesses and other organizations with legal status according to Vietnamese law.

9. NN1 - Issued to people who are Heads of representative offices or projects of international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam.

10. NN2 - Issued to heads of representative offices, branches of foreign traders, representative offices of economic, cultural, and other foreign professional organizations in Vietnam.

11. NN3 - Issued to people working with foreign non-governmental organizations, representative offices, branches of foreign traders, representative offices of economic, cultural organizations and other professional organizations of foreigners in Vietnam.

12. DH - Issued to people who practice and study.

13. HN - Issued to people attending conferences and seminars.

14. PV1 - Issued to reporters and press residing in Vietnam.

15. PV2 - Issued to reporters and press for short-term activities in Vietnam.

According to this regulation, international students in Vietnam will be issued a visa with the symbol DH.
