2. Foreigners who are granted temporary residence cards in Vietnam
According to current regulations, there are 14 foreigners in Vietnam who are granted temporary residence cards as follows:
- Subjects who are granted temporary residence cards with a validity of up to 2 years:
+ LĐ1: Foreigners working in Vietnam have confirmation that they are not subject to a work permit, unless an international treaty to which Vietnam is a member has other provisions.
+ Reporter 1: Foreigner who is a reporter or press resident in Vietnam.
+ LĐ2: Foreigners are people working in Vietnam who are required to have a work permit.
- Subjects who are granted temporary residence cards with a validity of up to 3 years:
+ Contact 3: Foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contributions ranging from 03 billion VND to less than 50 billion VND.
+ NN1: Foreigner who is the Head of a representative office or project of an international organization or foreign non-governmental organization in Vietnam.
+ NN2: Foreigners head of representative offices, branches of foreign traders, cultural, and other foreign professional organizations in Vietnam
+ TT: Foreigners are spouses, children under 18 years old of foreigners who are granted visas or foreigners are fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and children of Vietnamese citizens.
- Subjects who are granted temporary residence cards with a validity of up to 5 years:
+ NG 3: foreigners who are members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations under the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations in Vietnam and their spouses and children 18 years old, term maid.
+ LV1: Foreigners working with departments, agencies, and units directly under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the State Audit, and officials , ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies, provincial party committees, city party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.
+ LV2: Foreigners working with socio-political organizations, social organizations, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

+ Contact 2: Foreign investors in Vietnam and representatives of foreign organizations investing in Vietnam with capital contribution worth from 50 billion VND to under 100 billion VND or investing in industries and professions that encourage investment Development is decided by the Government.

- Subjects granted temporary residence cards with a validity of up to 10 years:

However, the above deadlines are the maximum duration of each type of temporary residence card. The duration of the temporary residence card also depends on factors related to the type of visa, documents issued to the foreigner and the duration. passport . The issued temporary residence card is valid for at least 30 days shorter than the remaining validity of a passport. And foreigners with expired temporary residence cards will be considered for a new card.
3 . Application for temporary residence card for foreigners in Vietnam
Dossier to request a temporary residence card for foreigners in Vietnam is specified in Clause 1, Article 37 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, amended and supplemented in Clause 15 Article 1 of the Law on entry, exit, transit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam amended in 2019, the dossier includes the following components:

4. Procedures for applying for temporary residence cards for foreigners in Vietnam
The procedure for applying for a temporary residence card for foreigners in Vietnam is carried out step by step as follows:
