When applying to renounce Vietnamese nationality, is the passport still valid?
According to Article 27 of the Law on Entry and Exit of Vietnamese Citizens. There are regulations on cases of revocation and cancellation of passport use value as follows:
Article 27. Cases of revocation and cancellation of passports
1. Cancel a valid but lost passport
2. Revoke and cancel passports of persons subject to renunciation, denaturalization or annulled decision on naturalization of Vietnamese nationality.
3. Revoke and cancel valid diplomatic passports and service passports if holders are no longer eligible for use thereof.
4. Revoke and cancel passports issued to persons specified in Clause 1 Article 21 of this Law.
According to this regulation, in this case of persons subject to renunciation, their passport will be revoked and invalidated.
In your case, when your passport is revoked or invalidated, you cannot use that passport anymore.
