Can people with dual nationality take the civil service exam?

Civil servants are Vietnamese citizens, recruited and appointed to ranks, positions and titles corresponding to job positions in agencies of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, and socio-political organizations in Vietnam. central, provincial and district levels; in agencies and units of the People's Army but are not officers, professional soldiers, or defense workers; in agencies and units of the People's Public Security but are not officers or non-commissioned officers serving under the professional regime, police workers, on the payroll and receiving salaries from the state budget.

To take the civil servant recruitment exam, candidates must meet the following conditions regardless of ethnicity, gender, social class, belief or religion to register for civil service recruitment:

- Has one nationality which is Vietnamese nationality;

- 18 years old or older;

- Have application form; have a clear background;

- Have appropriate diplomas and certificates;

- Have good political and moral qualities;

- Healthy enough to perform tasks;

- Other conditions as required by the candidate position.

At the same time, do not belong to the following subjects:

- Not residing in Vietnam;

- Loss or limited civil act capacity;

- Being prosecuted for criminal liability; are serving or have completed serving a criminal sentence or decision of the Court but have not had their criminal record erased; are being subjected to administrative measures such as being sent to a compulsory drug treatment facility or being sent to a compulsory education facility.

Based on the regulations on civil servant recruitment exam conditions mentioned above, in terms of nationality, the law only allows people with one nationality, Vietnamese nationality, to meet the standards.
