Are citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany exempt from visas when entering Vietnam?
Citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany are exempted from visa when entering Vietnam as stipulated in Article 1 Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP 2022, modified by Article 1 Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP 2023 (Effective from August 15, 2023) specifically:
Visa exemption for citizens of the following countries: Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic, Italian Republic, Kingdom of Spain, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Russian Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Belarus with a temporary stay period of 45 days from the date of entry, no Distinguishing passport type and purpose of entry, based on meeting all entry conditions according to Vietnamese law.
Thus, citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany enter Vietnam with a temporary residence period of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry, on the basis of meeting all conditions. According to Vietnamese law, visa exemption is possible.
Note: The visa exemption policy when entering Vietnam for citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany will be implemented for a period of 3 years, from March 15, 2022 to March 14, 2025 and will be considered extending according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.
