How many days can female workers take leave for prenatal check-ups?
1. How many days can I take off for prenatal check-ups?
Depending on each person's circumstances, female workers will get 01 to 02 working days off for prenatal check-ups per prenatal check-up with 05 check-ups. If you take advantage of up to 05 prenatal check-ups during pregnancy, female employees will be entitled to 5 to 10 days of prenatal check-up leave.
Specifically, according to Clause 1, Article 32 Law on Social Insurance, the time off for prenatal check-ups for each case is prescribed as follows:
- Normal case: 01 day off for prenatal check-ups per visit and 05 days off for prenatal check-ups. If you have a maximum of 05 prenatal check-ups, you will receive a total of 05 days off.
- In case you live far from a medical examination and treatment facility or the pregnant woman has a medical condition or an abnormal pregnancy: You are entitled to take 02 days off for prenatal check-ups per visit and are entitled to 05 days off for prenatal check-ups. If you have a maximum of 5 prenatal check-ups, you will receive a total of 10 days off.
Note: Time off is calculated based on working days, excluding holidays, New Year holidays, and weekly days off.
In addition, if the employee goes for a prenatal check-up while on annual leave, personal leave, or unpaid leave, the employee will not be eligible for social insurance benefits.(according to Clause 7, Article 1 Circular No. 06/2021/TT-BLDTBXH).
2. How much money do you receive each time you go for a prenatal checkup?
According to the calculation method in Article 39 Law on Social Insurance, for each day off for prenatal check-ups, the employee is paid the following amount:
For example: Ms. X pays monthly social insurance with a salary = 10 million VND/month. Each time she takes leave for prenatal check-up, Ms.
Prenatal check-up fee/time = 10 million VND: 24 x 01 day = 416,667 VND
To receive payment for the prenatal check-up regime, each time the employee returns home from the check-up, he or she only needs to submit a certificate of leave to enjoy social insurance benefits to the business so that they can submit a dossier to the social insurance agency.
Based on Decision No. 166/QD-BHXH, the time to resolve the prenatal examination regime for employees is a maximum of 06 working days, calculated from the date the enterprise submits complete and valid documents.
Pregnancy check-up fees are usually paid to employees in two common forms: Cash payment through the business or bank transfer to the employee's personal bank account.
