What conditions are required to be granted a License to carry out radiation work and import radioactive sources?
Radioactive sources are radioactive substances manufactured for use, not including nuclear materials as Clause 5 Article 3 Law on Atomic Energy explains.
Importing radioactive sources is one of the following radiation jobs Point h, Clause 2, Article 1 Decree No. 142/2020/ND-CP.
Based on Article 12 Decree No. 142/2020/ND-CP regulates on import of radioactive sources are as follows:
Import of radioactive sources, source nuclear materials, nuclear materials and nuclear equipment
1. Ensure safety and security
a) Meet the conditions specified in Point a, Clause 2, Article 5 of this Decree;
b) Have a separate place to temporarily store radioactive sources until put into use or transferred to another organization or individual;
c) Ensure radioactive source security according to the provisions in Appendix 1 of this Decree.
2. In case of importing sealed radioactive sources, there must be a commitment to return the source to the manufacturer when there is no need to use it or to ensure financial obligations for the treatment and storage of used radioactive sources. .
Thus, to be granted a License to carry out radiation work, importing radioactive sources must ensure safety and security as prescribed. In Point a Clause 2 Article 5 Decree No. 142/2020/ND-CP.
