1. What is labor safety?
The concept of labor safety is based on Clause 2, Article 3 Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene 2015 stipulated as follows:
“Occupational safety is a solution to prevent and combat the impact of dangerous factors to ensure that no injury or death occurs to people during the working process.”
According to data reported in 2022, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs announced that more than 7,900 people were injured due to occupational accidents. Therefore, learning about labor safety plays an important role in helping protect the rights and interests of workers.
“Safety first” is considered the golden rule in the working process. In other words, labor safety is the employer's responsibility to ensure labor safety for employees throughout the working process. To avoid situations that are dangerous to the health and life of workers.
2. Principles of ensuring labor safety
Article 5 of Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene 2015, labor safety regulations need to ensure the following principles:
- Workers need to be guaranteed to work in safe environmental conditions. However, they are equipped with protective gear when working at places such as construction sites, factories, manufacturing plants, etc. to ensure the health and life safety of workers.
- Employers must always be responsible, aware and seriously comply with regulations on labor safety measures during the employment process. Always put prevention and control measures first to avoid unfortunate situations from occurring.
- Enterprises can participate in questioning the opinions of relevant parties such as: Councils on occupational safety and hygiene at all levels in construction, trade unions, and employer representative organizations. Thereby, to create favorable conditions for workers to properly implement labor safety measures.
